• Merbolin is the oldest manufacturer of paints in Turkey, started in 1895 in Fermeneciler district of Istanbul under the name Merkez Boya (Paint Center). Its trademark of “Merbolin” is an abbreviation of that name.
• It was reorganized as a joint-stock company in 1960 under the name MERBOLIN BOYA VE MATBAA MÜREKKEBI SANAYI A.Ş. and moved to its new factory in Topkapı district of Istanbul.
• Its subsidiary BOYATAŞ BOYA DAĞITIM VE SANAYI A.Ş. was started in 1974.
• Today the Merbolin brand of paints are manufactured at a factory covering a total indoor surface area of 3000 m² located in Dilovası district of Izmit. We have also two factories in Malatya (eastern district of Turkey) and Baku.
• This company received an ISO 9000 quality certificate in 1998, and now holds TS EN ISO 9001:2000 Certificate of Quality Management System.
